Treated Waste Water Irrigation
Kohut, Rafael ; Hyánková, Eva (referee) ; Kriška-Dunajský, Michal (advisor)
The thesis deals with the issue of simulation of treated wastewater irrigation by the HYDRUS 2D software. The first part of the thesis is designed as a theoretical research of academic information and knowledge. It aims at introducing the issue of treated wastewater utilization for the purpose of the irrigation. Furthermore it provides basic theoretical information on numeric simulation of the dissolved materials motion and transport in the soil. The last chapter of the theoretical part describes the calibration of the simulation by the HYDRUS 2D software. The second part of the thesis is devoted to the formation of filtration columns placed in the chosen site of the root zone wastewater plant. Within the filtration columns the automatic irrigation was formed and set off. Measuring of humidity in filtration columns was taking place for 81 days as well as the water sampling after the flow through the soil horizons. On the grounds of the measuring results the calibration of numeric simulation was carried out by the HYDRUS 2D software. The last part of the thesis presents the applications through the extending and alternation of the modelled setting. The main aim of the thesis is to calibrate the model and propose a general solution to advancement at realization of irrigation details when using the treated wastewater for the purpose of irrigation.
Utilization of treated wastewater in a drip irrigation system
Šalanda, Pavel ; Innemanová, Petra (advisor) ; Cajthaml, Tomáš (referee)
Drought has an increasing importance in the Czech republic. It is necessary to look for potential irrigation water sources, which are important for agriculture. Treated wastewater can be one of them. It has potentially negative impact on soil physico-chemical properties, which is well-known from many researches in arid regions. The aim of this diploma thesis was to investigate, if the drip irrigation with treated wastewater (from constructed wetland) also has a potentially negative impact on two soils in the Czech republic. In one year experiment drip irrigation with treated wastewater was carried out in the greenhouse. Four treatments of irrigation was used for both soils - irrigation with treated wastewater, irrigation with groundwater, irrigation with treated wastewater + rainwater, irrigation with groundwater + rainwater. An amount of rainwater correspond with total precipitation of two locations, where the soils were brought from (Kostelec nad Ohří - Ústí nad Labem region and Hostětín - Zlín region). pH and electrical conductivity of soil leachate, total concentration of Na, K, Ca, Mg a P, bulk density, particle density and porosity was measured in both soils in 5 and 10 centimeters from source of irrigation. Values of pH of soil leachate fluctuated in every treatment in both soils during the...
The effect of irrigation with treated wastewater on the development of soil hydrophobicity
Fojtová, Zuzana ; Innemanová, Petra (advisor) ; Šereš, Michal (referee)
In this work I have dealt with the influence of irrigation with treated wastewater on the development of soil hydrophobicity. In the theoretical part I deal with the influence of using treated wastewater on the development of hydrophobicity in soils irrigated in such manner, the methods used for measurement and in general the benefits and risks of application of treated wastewater to soil. In the practical part, I focused on measuring hydrophobicity using the Water Drop Penetration Time (WDPT) method. Soil samples originated from the Hostětín, where a long-term irrigation test with treated wastewater is underway. For the purpose of testing the WDPT method, soil samples taken at the beginning of the experiment (in 2018) were used, as well as long-term irrigated samples with treated wastewater from the constructed wetland under laboratory conditions. As a control served irrigation with well water and part of the samples from both variants was additionally irrigated with rainwater, which simulated the amount of precipitation that fell on average in the Zlín Region during the experiment. The water used for this experiment came from a constructed wetland close to the Perlová voda complex near Kostelec nad Ohří in the Ústí Region. The samples were irrigated for one year. The method was further tested on...
